Preparations for Spring Camino 2018

Beginning in December, we will be looking for candidates to participate in the Spring Camino.  We will be actively looking for Veterans (American and Coalition Countries) who will be able to take a 40 day walk starting in early April 2018.

If you know of a Veteran who is struggling, please encourage them to apply for this trip.  Only a limited number of spots will be available so we will focus our efforts on seeking the Veterans who stand to benefit from this ancient Pilgrimage the most.

For the Veterans who are selected, all costs will be covered by VOC (boots and pack, travel and daily per diem to cover food and albergues).

Also, if you don’t know of any Veterans who would be good candidates for this program, you can help by donating and helping us raise the funds to make this possible.  VOC is a 501(c)3 charity.

Thank you and I look forward to starting this amazing journey!

  1. Hello, together with a friend we will start the journey on 16/4/2018. We will arrive at Lourdes airport in the afternoon and look for pilgrims to share the taxi to reach SJPLP in the evening.
    Contact me if you’re interested.
    Good evening.

  3. Brad, this is a brilliant initiative and one that I know will bring peace, healing and some degree of resolution to those who make this journey – not an instant panacea but the start to a meaningful step forward.

The Camino, walking twice from St.Jean to Santiago and once from Seville to Santiago has been an important healing journey for me, has given me an acceptance and passion for embracing life.

I wish you the very best with getting this project off the ground.

  4. I’m a US Army veteran with 24 years of active duty in a dire need for direction and change in my life. I will commit to this 150% as I’m at a point of no return and believe that getting away from it all and having the opportunity to travel this journey will change me forever.
It’s not easy to admit that I need help, but it’s harder not to accept it.
If given the opportunity to be part of this I’m willing to give my all.

    • Julie, look for the application information as soon as it comes out in December. I understand how you feel and I believe that walking the Camino will be a meaningful, perhaps life changing experience for you as it was for me. I look forward to hearing back from you!
